FAQ & Help

Heat Up 2

Here you will find frequently asked questions and answers regarding to Heat Up 2 which could help you solving your problem before contacting us.

I can´t find my serial key.

The first time you run Heatup2 the plugin will show you a activation code, copy the activation code and follow these steps:

Go to CoreServices folder and open Installer app

I have no sound.

HeatUp2 comes with 2 installers ( Library Bundle Setup & Preset Bundle Setup), make sure you install both. Installing the Library Bundle will allow you to choose a Setup destination. Only if you install the Library to it´s default folder HeatUp2 will work straight away.

If you install the Library Bundle to a custom Folder or external harddrive, you must configure your instruments folder in the HeatUp2 settings.

  • 1. Run HeatUp2
  • 2. Open the settings screen by clicking the Gear-Icon
  • 3. Click Select Instrument Folder and locate your HeatUp2 Library folder, click open.

Go to CoreServices folder and open Installer app

I have installed a expansion pack and see the presets but have no sound.

You must install the expansion pack into the same folder as your Heatup2 factory library.

  • Example:
  • If you have installed the factory library to c:/heatup2 library/ the expansion must be installed into the same folder.

If you have not changed the destination folder during factory library setup, install the expansion pack to it´s default folder.

Installer package stucks on verify. ( MAC ONLY )

Forcing a Stuck Verifying .pkg Installer to Run in Mac OS X

Assuming the .pkg, .dmg, or installer app is legitimate and still stuck on “verifying” then here is what you can do to force it to run:

    1. From the Finder in Mac OS X, hit Command + Shift + G and enter the following path:

/System/Library/CoreServices/

    1. Locate the app named “Installer.app” from this directory and launch it directly

Go to CoreServices folder and open Installer app

    1. Navigate to the .pkg file that is stuck on verifying and select to open it

Select package file that is stuck verifying

    1. Success! Run through the package installer or update as usual

Package runs successfully

The package installer should now work just fine, whether it’s a software update for Mac OS, a third party app, or whatever else was stuck in the verifying stage. This seems to happen most often with installers that are run from a mounted disk image, but it can occur with downloaded .pkg updates as well.
